Guapi is a black condensed display typeface inspired by the traditional animation and illustration work of María Barriga.
A design where organic, round, and friendly shapes coexist with high-tension right angles. The result is a font with a playful yet sophisticated character, grounded in the concept of “controlled sweetness”—a typeface designed for those who seek balance in the unexpected.

Guapi is currently available in a Black Condensed weight, featuring a solid and bold structure that maximizes its visual impact. It is a piece with a magnetic personality, conceived for headlines and branding that demand character and attention, as well as for compositions that celebrate detail.

Guapi was developed during the Digital Typography course at Familia Plómez in 2025. The project was created under the tutelage of Andreu Balius and Juanjo López, with invaluable guidance and advice from José Ramón Penela, Laura Meseguer, Rainer Erich Scheichelbauer, Alex Santos, and Luis Castellón.
